Life Technologies was created by the combination of Invitrogen Corporation and Applied Biosystems Inc in November of 2008.

  • New Genomic Alliance

    Life Technologies announced the creation of the Genomic Cancer Care Alliance to help people battling cancer gain access to treatment options found through analysis of their genomic information. Founding partners include Fox Chase Cancer Center, Scripps Genomic Medicine, and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen).The announcement came during the Consumer Genetics Conference being held June 2-4 in Boston.

    Life Technologies Corporation announced that it has made an equity investment in Synthetic Genomics, Inc. (SGI), a privately held company founded to commercialize synthetic genomic advances. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
